The Makerbot Replicator 2x has two nozzles which allow you to print with two materials simulatenously. This groundbreaking shift means two colors at once, or more complex materials that just aren't possible without support material - all possible within the Makerbot frame.
The Replicator 2X is optimized for printing with ABS thanks to the resilient aluminum build plate. This anodized, temperature controlled plate is constructed for critical flatness to eliminate warping and decrease deformities - now you don't have to worry about print quality.
Enjoy saving time with the easy-load extruder! The filament lever makes readying and changing filament as simple as can be. This new system is designed with the user in mind, therefore, it reduces jamming, clogging, and stripping. This extruder is durable, and with its new thermal core, the internal temperature is more stable, which means less maintenance and more beautiful prints.
Temperature control is key when printing with ABS, which is why the Replicator 2X is designed to form a six sided enclosure! The lid is magnetic and snaps on and off nicely, while the door is built with a friction hinge so it won't snap shut when you grab your finished print. Also, safety is a big factor in 3D printing - magnetic latches keep your hands safe from heated elements, and we definitely recommend using these around children.
